The Peace Diaries Radio Program was broadcast during the World Summit for Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg, South Africa from August 26 through September 4, 2002. Peace Diaries Radio reached approximately 60,000 WSSD delegates and an estimated 20 million listeners in Africa and a portion of the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
It features the students voices and interviews with renowned peacemakers Arun Gandhi, Ela Gandhi, Betty Reardon, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, prominent scientists and educators and icons including Joseph Shabalala, leader of South African international recording and performing group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and Bob McGrath, host of TV's internationally syndicated Sesame Street.

The Peace Diaries Program was created by Knowledge iTrust as a reaction to 9/11 to give kids a healthy way to express their fears, concerns and hopes for peace. Volume One includes the work of students in New York City schools, plus students in Israel, France, Azerbaijan, Argentina, Chile, Ghana and South Africa.
