NOODLES
Ingredients
4 quarts chicken broth
3-4 of flour
5 egg yolks (no whites)
2 cups milk
Essay
My recipe is noodles. I picked them because every Thanksgiving Eve I stay at my grandmas house so the next morning we can get the food started. Now dont get me wrong, we fix a lot of food but I like the noodles the best because when we are making them that is the only time we talk. Its like when we are making the noodles all of the problems of the world just float away just so me and my grandma can talk. We talk about whats going on in my life like school, friends, and boys (of course, she always tells me that I am too young to have a boyfriend) and I ask how her job is going. She works at the Post Office so we worry about her a lot. Every year I cant wait till Thanksgiving just so I can talk to my grandma. That is why I picked noodles.

Essay
My familys favorite traditional food is dumplings. Everyone in my family loves my grandmas dumplings. Everyone is grumpy if there is a reunion without dumplings. My grandma fixes six pots full and they are all gone in half an hour, and that is fact! The recipe is rare because it was thought up many generations ago. It was handed down to the girls of the family. Now I know how to make them just like my grandma. Every time she makes them, I help her. The recipe also only contains a few ingredients so it is easy to make. The hard part in making them is that you have to prepare things separately. You have to make the dumplings a certain way also. If you dont mix the ingredients and do the right things then they turn out bad. It is almost like my family doesnt need a recipe at all. My grandma sort of just throws things in and it turns out perfect. She also makes it differently every time. I dont know how she does it. I think it might be because she has made it so many times she memorized it. It just comes natural in the girls of our family. I dont really know how to explain the flavor all I know is that they are good. Every time my grandma gets hugs and kisses for them. After we are done eating everyone pitches in and we do the dishes for her. I think everyone should know the taste of these wonderful dumplings.

TURKEY
Ingredients
1 pan full of water
2 tablespoons of salt
1 hand full of butter
1 rooster pan
1 rooster
Essay
My favorite recipe is the turkey we have on Thanksgiving. The pilgrims originated it from America. To begin with, my family has always had turkey on Thanksgiving Day just like most other American families do. To begin to prepare the turkey you must thaw it thoroughly. The next step is to clean the inside of the turkey out. An order to clean the turkey you have to pull out all the insides and then wash it with water to clean it just like we use water to clean ourselves. Then, you sprinkle in two tablespoons of salt on the inside of the turkey to season it, and then rub a handful of butter on the outside for flavor. Next, we put the turkey in the roster pan and add about two cups of water to the inside of the pan; this is done so the pan doesnt burn. Then, you cook the turkey according to the size of the turkey.
Cooking turkeys in this generation is a lot simpler that in the olden days according to my grandmother. Instead of cooking a turkey for days like they used to, but now you can cook a turkey over night due to technology, and instead of cleaning a big messy pan you can use a bag and throw it away once your done. Some memories I had from turkeys are the taste, the dryness, and the smell. I also remember the tan ness/white color of the turkey, the thought that the turkey was alive at one time, and the guiltiness of eating a turkey that could have had a family like me remember this is what I thought when I was young. I remember the prayer before we cut into the turkey, and what ever was left of the turkey meal we feed it to the dogs. This recipe is special to me because it tastes very, very good and is an American tradition to have turkey on Thanksgiving Day, and Thanksgiving is special to me because every seven years it is on my birthday.

This is the history of my favorite recipe the chocolate cake. Almost on every bodies birthday well have the chocolate cake. Im one of them, and I love it. Its real good; the cake will have icing on the top and some in the middle. My brother likes it, but he is one of the people who dont have it on there birthday. I think he is crazy; instead he likes to have ice cream cake. Here are some of the memories of it. Once on my birthday my brother cut a piece, and shoved it in my face. He said, "Theres your present". Every body was laughing besides me, but know that I look back on it I think its funny. Another time my dad took me to Radio Shack and bought me an awesome radio controlled truck. Then after we had some of the awesome chocolate cake. Thats a little about its history.
Know your going to here some tales about the cake. Once I was walking to the kitchen and when I got there I tripped and fell on the cake. So we had to fix the cake the next day. You know how I told what my brother did to me, dont worry I got him back. On his birthday I stuck ice cream cake in his face! Those are some tales. Now get to cooking.

DEVILED EGGS
Ingredients
1/4 cup salad dressing or mayonnaise
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 teaspoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
Essay
Deviled eggs are originally and still are my grandmothers recipe, butit was the first thing she ever taught my mom to cook. My mom didnt know a lot about cooking, but she tried her best anyways. Since my mom didnt know much about measurements and stuff she had know idea that tsp meant teaspoon, so she put a tablespoon if salt in it. The deviled eggs were so salty it was really hard to get them down your throat. Her step-dad didnt want to hurt her feelings so he ate every single one of them. It didnt bother him to much because he loved salt. Thats pretty much how we got our recipe of deviled eggs.

The creamy peanut butter fudge was originally a chocolate fudge recipe that my grandmother took on as her own and changed it to be an original creamy peanut butter fudge. We always celebrate the holidays with close relatives and it always seems like my grandma's fudge brings us together for the celebrations. It always seems to bring love, joy, and happiness to everyones faces in my family. It always makes me happy to see the joy on everyones faces. Also, it always makes everyone hipper because of all the sugar that she puts in it. But, all in all, my grandmother's delicious peanut butter is really something and can always put a little love in everyone elses heart and mine in my family.

LEMON CAKE!
In my family we have Lemon Cake. We eat it on special occasions, like winning a medal or good grades. Let me relate. The last time my family had a Lemon Cake it was because of my accomplishments in my religion. My brother had won second place in spell bowl again and my sister had her first bible study. My mother found a new and better job. This is what comes to mind when I see a Lemon Cake. I hope to share these same memories with my children

EGGNOG
Eggnog is a family recipe for Christmas. Me (Nicole), my brother Dustin, and my mom Kim make eggnog the day right after Thanksgiving when we put up our Christmas tree. We also make it on Christmas Day when we open presents. You might be asking how do you make it? Well first you put the ice cream, vanilla, milk, nutmeg, and two eggs in to a blinder. Then put it in to a nice pretty glass. Now you can enjoy it. It is like a milk shake, only better. I enjoy it all the time because it is a family thing and I drink it around the Christmas tree with my family.

Essay
When the wintertime is here, my grandmother would make German Soup for the family. We would all go outside to play in the snow, while my grandmother and some of her daughters would stay in and cook. The family would make snow angels on the gowned and big hat snowman. My dad would put a carrot on the snowmans face, and the carrot would be the nose. The rest of us would put buttons on the snowman. Two of the buttons would be the snowman's eyes, and seven to ten of the buttons would be his mouth. After we built the snowman, we would have a snowball fight. We would hind in areas that we knew that nobody could throw a snowball and hint us. My father would somehow always find a way to hint us with a snowball, but we would all team up and get he back. My mother then would call everyone in to eat. Then, we would come in with snow falling off our clothes, and our faces would be a bright red color. The house would smell so wonderful; because of the German Soup would be done cooking. We would all start setting the table, and my uncle would try to get him a bowl of food. The next thing you would here was my grandma telling him to get away from the food, and wait until the table was set to start eating. Next, we would all set down, and my mom would hand out the food. Finally, we would set down in the living room, and watch a movie. All the lights in the house were off, but light from the Christmas tree and the Television. Then at the end of the night, the families would start leaving one by one. Some of us would take the rest of the food home with us, and the others would not. We always had a great time when my grandma was making German Soup.
