Chapter 7.1: GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO
Holy Family Catholic School
Teacher: Jamie Moore

Aaron M.
I am from Grand Junction Co. U.S.A. The quality of life that I have in the United States is very good. I am a 13 year old boy. I attend a Catholic school. I hope that when I grow up I will become a professional skateboarder, wake boarder, snowboarder, or a mountain boarder.
Grand Junction is located to the West of Denver. The city I live in has a population of about 40,000. My city is in a valley in-between mountains. During the winter I like to snowboard on our local resort. In the world today there is too much hunger and violence. I wish there was no violence or hunger in the world. There is not as much hunger and violence in the United States as there is in other countries.

Alysha B.
My quality of life can be best described as very good. I live in a nice house, in a nice neighborhood, in a nice town. In the town where I live, I encounter very little violence. Both of my parents work and make pretty good money. There is always enough food for everybody. We have never been without heat, air conditioning, clothing, water, or any other necessities.
I am getting a very good education. My parents pay for me to go to a private, Catholic school. They can afford to pay for me to go to this school because they are both very well educated, and have good jobs. My brothers and I always have good clothes and shoes. The water in our town is very clean and free of bacteria. There has also been fluoride added to our water supply. In conclusion, I am very fortunate to have such a good standard of living.
I think that very few things should change for the future. One thing that I do think should be changed is that children should not go hungry. It is not the childs fault that their parents are poor, and they should not have to pay for the mistakes of their parents by going hungry. A way to keep this from happening is to teach people how to do certain trades, and to farm their own food. This will keep young, innocent children from going hungry, and suffering from malnourishment. I think that this will greatly help the people of the world

Amanda W.
My name is Amanda W. and I live in Grand Junction, Colorado. I think that I am very lucky to live in the United States instead of a country where I would not have as many choices as I have here. I don't think that I would be able to stand living in a place where I could not say what I wanted or wear what I felt like wearing. I guess that if you dont live where I do or have the same friends you might not understand, but that is the way that I feel about it.
But even here in the U.S., things need to be changed even if it doesnt need to be changed as drastically as in some other parts of the world. There is violence on all the streets and it can be very, very scary. People kill and abuse each other just for fun. If there was one thing that I could do, it would be to have peace throughout the world. But since we all have our own free will, someone would not like the deal and would try to take over the world or something.
I guess thats why we have guns and knives and things like that. Its really too bad that the world cannot have world peace. Anyone could help by just making someone feel wanted and maybe change their minds about having a shoot out or a bombing at a school. It's not hard. If everyone would just take a little time to do that, we would have a much better world for everyone. If I could change one thing in this world that is what it would be.

Amy K.
I live in Grand Junction Colorado and I am 14 years old. Preparing yourself for the future and respecting yourself establishes quality of life. It makes my life meaningful. If I know that my life is meaningful then I will have more respect for myself. I try to set goals for myself so that I have something to look forward to and something to work for.
When I achieve these goals I feel proud of myself and have a good feeling of accomplishment. It is also valuable to set long term goals for the future. Planning your future prepares you for challenges you might face. It also helps you to put your mind to something and work for it. Some of my goals for the future are to go to college and get a good education. I also want to have a family and have a good plan for the life ahead of me. This is what quality of life means to me

Audrey D.
My quality of life differs from the millions of people who suffer from poverty, violence, and hunger everyday. Even though I live in a country with many advantages, my life is affected by those who face challenges. Throughout the world, people's lives are changed by lack of education, war, security, hunger, and pollution.
I feel that many aspects of my life are better than other's. I receive a decent education in a decent school, while many people have never had schooling. My education will help me reach my goals in life. While I do not have to worry about hunger and water quality, many citizens go to bed hungry and acquire diseases from unclean water sources. I am affected by fighting everyday. Although I do not experience it often, I read and hear about it almost everyday. Many people are not as fortunate as I. If I could, I would change many aspects of the world we live in now.
The world around me faces various problems such as violence, famine, and pollution. Some of the problems I would change would include war, hunger, disease, and crime.
To fix these problems, I would educate the poor and homeless and help find suitable jobs for those in need. Also, I hope that many of the countries that experience war, would find peace. There are many qualities of life around the world that could be changed to form a more positive future now and for generations to come

Becca W.
Hi. My name is Becca W. and I live in Colorado. When I think about my life compared to that of people in poor countries, I think we are very lucky to live in the United States. Sometimes, I look around and notice all of the shortcomings; many of which are small things such as littering and polluting. These problems could be changed if everyone worked together.
I feel that I live in a safe and healthy environment. Because I live in a small town, the crime rate is very low. For the most part our small town is clean and we do not suffer many serious outbreaks of sickness. It is possible to get a very good education here and people should take advantage of it. There is also much recreation in Grand Junction. Many people benefit from the outdoors activities such as skiing, swimming, rafting, hiking, and several organized sports.
Sometimes people tend to focus on the bad things about Grand Junction and Colorado in general. In Grand Junction, there is a rapidly growing population and much land development. This causes water and air pollution and sometimes trees are even cut down to provide more room to build and expand. We also have a growing rate of homeless; many of whom are mentally disabled people who are in need of medication.
If I could change something here in Colorado, I would probably work to educate people. They would then be able to work at jobs that could support a family and then maybe there would be fewer homeless people because we as a community would be able to care for them. Then in the future our town will be a more efficient and healthy community.

Ben W.
Hey, my name is Ben W and I live in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA. The US is nice to live in because we have a lot of freedom. We have the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the freedom to choose where we work and make a living. The education here in the US mostly is good except for in some parts.

Caylee C.
Hi, my name is Caylee C. and I live Colorado. Our world is threatened by many fatal factors such as violence, pollution, lack of security, and lack of education. Today many of us are unaware of how many people don't have the type of life they deserve.
Here in America, we cherish all life. Although we have our downfalls, we trying to correct them. Crime and drugs are major problems everywhere, but when I learned that Colorado, my home state, was rated number one in the nation when it comes to alcohol problems, I was shocked!
I realize that my fourteen-year-old world is really very perfect compared to others around the world. Yes, I worry about school and friends but that is nothing compared to worrying about gangs hurting you or not having a place to sleep at night. I think one way I myself could do something to help would be to discourage pranks that could offend or hurt someone.
When you see a crime, or hear about plans for crime in the future, stop them yourself, and if you're unable to do that, report them. Life is special and God gave us that gift and the gift of choice. No one has the authority to take that away from you. They can try to take it away from you and they might even succeed in doing so but there are two things that they cannot take away from you and that is your beliefs and your hope. Always remember that.

Chris F.
Hey, I am Christopher F from Grand Junction CO. My life is really good right now. I have both my parents, a very nice house and a couple of animals. I live in a nice city with a low crime rate.
I also go to a nice school where I get an excellent education. I have a brother and lots of friends. I do not really need anything and I am happy most of the time. If I could change anything, it would be the way I do things, like my homework or sports.
Sometimes I don't pay enough attention to my homework or the sports that I am participating in.
I would like to change the way I spend my time. In the future I could plan my day out and just try to follow the plan that I made. I also need to control my urges to go do something else.

Chris M.
Currently there is much violence and poverty in our world. Some people have billions of dollars while others are starving to death. There are also many wars and violence today. Another problem is there is child labor in many countries all over the world. Children are overworked and many never get an education. These are some of the terrible conditions that exist today.
I have many aspirations for the future. One of them is to stop child labor. Many children have to work almost all day and never get to play. They get paid very low wages so they have to work all their lives. Something we can do now in the present to change the future is to educate the children.
Many children in third world countries never get an education. Since they do not get an education they have to work unskilled jobs at a very low wage. If the children get educated and taught a skill they could work at a higher wage. This could end child labor and poverty problems. Many people in these countries starve to death because they are so poor. With more money they could buy enough food, housing, and medical bills. Doing this could save many lives.
Another aspiration of mine is for there to be more peace in the world. There is always a war going on somewhere in the world. There are also terrorists in the world who attack occasionally. In the future, I hope the communist countries become democracies. A dream of mine is for there to be no more terrorists in the future and to have less wars in the world. Our world would be a much better place if this happened.
These are my top two aspirations for the future. I feel that these goals are very achievable if we work towards them. These are two of my dreams I would love to see become a reality.

Chris S.
Hi my name is Chris S. I live in Grand Junction Colorado. Here in Grand Junction Colorado it has some boring days and a lot of really fun days to. When its the boring days, thats just when there is no one around to play with. On the fun days that is when friends are around. It can also be especially fun when youre in the outdoors.
Whenever youre fishing, hiking, camping, shooting, boating, canoeing, horseback riding, or anything else you can think of is fun here. Some things that I would change or have made is an air missile defense to block the missiles. I would also have a defense shield over the U.S. for during emergency war attacks or any other kind of bombing attack.

Claire W.
I am 14 years old and I live in Grand Junction, Colorado. I hope that I will have a good future, without violence. Today our world is threatened by diseases, starvation, and violence. If these bad things did not exist, many people would be able to have brighter futures.
If I had the power to change our world, I would do so. I would make everyone aware of how horrible violence can be, and how it can hurt people's lives. Hopefully, people would realize that they can make a change in the world, and not promote violence.
If I had the choice, I would completely eliminate all of the evils in the world. I believe that without these bad things, everyone would be able to come together as one, and live peacefully.
I realize that I have an exquisite quality of life compared to many people all over the world. I have good drinking water, I never have to worry about starving, and I always have a solid roof over my head. If I were able to talk to less-fortunate people, I would share their ideas and opinions with many people, and hopefully their thoughts would be spread all over the world. Hopefully people would get the message, and realize that a life without hunger, violence, and other bad things is possible, if everyone helps.

The things that I would change would be pollution and the quality of the environment. This would also improve the water quality. I would make more efficient factories and power plants. I would also tear down old factories and power plants for spare parts for the new buildings and recycle the rest.
Or, instead of tearing them down, I could make them more efficient by putting in new equipment that produces less pollution or equipment that filters out the pollution.
I would improve the quality of the environment by planting new trees where clear cutters have cut down trees and stop most of the major clear cutting businesses. I would also persuade people to recycle more paper so there is less of a need to cut down trees. Then, I would convince people to throw away trash and recycle more things. I would also convince them to pick up trash from the ground and throw it away and recycle what they can.
By doing these things, I would be improving water quality because there would be less pollution and trash getting into the water. These are the things I want do to improve my future.

David S.
My quality of life is excellent. I am very fortunate that I live in a good community. I don't have to worry about air pollution but crime does happen where I live. Crime is a big problem in the United States. If I could change things, I would help enforce the law. It would also help if more people were educated after high school. This would help more people become employed.
I believe that we could help open more schools in Africa and other third world countries. That way, more kids could get better jobs and help break the chain of poverty. Sometimes child labor laws are not enforced very well in these countries. So if these laws could be enforced better, it would help the child's chances at a better future.
We should also spend more money on trying to find alternative energy sources. This will help us cut back on air pollution. If we could do that, then our environment would not be altered by changes in the air. Alternative energy sources would also cut down on pollution in general. In conclusion, my quality of life is very good compared to others. I hope future generations will not have to deal with some of the things that we have to deal with today.

Everyone needs an education and it doesn't matter which school you go to you should get a good education no matter what. If your parents want you to be safer than kids in public schools, then they will put you in a private one. I think that is why my parent put me in a private school, for my safety.
There are many dangerous people in public schools. Some people think that if you go to a private school, you will go to Harvard or Stanford but you can still go there even if you go to a public school. It just depends on how much you apply yourself.
I always get mad at my parents for making me go to a private school because of the uniforms and small classes. Having a good education is important to me. If I have a good education, I might have more confidence so I can get a better job.
|
|
Erica L.
I am very fortunate to have everything I do. Some people aren't as fortunate as I am and don't even have a house to sleep in or meals to eat. I feel very lucky to be able to come home after school and have a hot meal to eat and a warm bed to sleep in. If I could change the quality of life we have on earth, I would make everyone equal, everyone educated, everyone safe.
Everyone should have food to eat and a bed to sleep in. Our environment would be kept cleaner and we could lessen pollution. We shouldn't have to worry about what is in the water we drink everyday. For the future, we can all contribute to help lessen pollution on our planet. If we work together, we can make our world a safer, cleaner, healthier place.
Violence is another danger in our world. If we teach young people about the dangers of violence, drug use, and alcohol use, along with many other issues, we can help make our world a safer place. Our schools should be safe for the students and the environment should be safe for everyone.
We can control water pollution by watching what we let get into our water sources. We can take better care of our environment. If we all put effort into it, we can make our world a better place overall. It would help future generations and we could feel good knowing that we did something to help others.

I am fourteen and I live in Grand Junction, Colorado. Two years ago, our country seemed very peaceful. Nobody ever worried about America's security or safety. Since September 11, the word "terrorist" has become a part of our vocabulary and is known throughout our nation. The people of our country are concerned about the security of America. Everyone is very cautious about the people they see or the planes they fly on.
We have realized that we are not the only people who have had to deal with terrorists, and that there are more out in the world. Although there are still problems we face each day, I believe that the people of America and other countries have become more united. Each person has his or her own differences, but all of us share a strong dislike of terrorism.
If I could change one thing in the world, it would be to get rid of terrorism and create a peaceful environment among all countries. To do this, I would work with the schools of America. Teachers could teach the students about the dangers of terrorism and how it would destroy unity between nations. If students grew up knowing the bad effects of terrorism, everyone would understand that it is not a good thing. All the people of the world would be able to prevent terrorism and keep everyone safe from its harm.

There are many things in my life that I would change, others I would keep just how they are. A few aspects that I would modify are homelessness, arguments between religions, and drug abuse. All of these things are going to affect my future in one way or another.
The first thing I would change about the environment around me is homelessness. I feel horrible for the homeless men, women, and children on the streets. They have to beg for jobs, money, and food. For me, the best way to help them is not to give them money to buy useless things, but to drive them to the homeless shelters so they can get help. By doing this, I could change my future for the better.
The next thing that I want to change about my future is the confrontation between the different religions of the world. I think people should accept that others think differently than they do. The terrorist attacks are a result of these arguments. If I could change this, it would improve everyones future.
Drug abuse is the last thing that I would change about my future. I see teenagers smoking cigarettes and getting sick from it. There has to be some way to stop them from ruining their healthy lives. If it were up to me, I would outlaw smoking altogether. It is a pointless habit that only makes you ill. To change my future, I will not start smoking or even try a cigarette.
These are things I can prevent by myself, but there are others that I need help with. That is why I am appreciative of my supportive friends, family, and teachers. They are people that I would not change, because that would not improve my future in any way.

Helen F.
My name is Helen F. and I live in Grand Junction, Colorado. Today, our world is full of hatred. People are dying every second of everyday. People are killed because of their beliefs, race, and gender. They are being treated unfairly, and they have never known a better life. It seems unfair that in the United States, we have never had the need to fear for our lives because of statements that we make or because of attending church services. We are free to make our own decisions.
This is the way life should be, but hardly anyone in our world knows what it is like to live like this. Other people deserve the life that we Americans are living today. Sometimes we seem ignorant of these things. Our lives are so different its hard to understand what it would be like living in a country where freedom doesnt exist. This separation between what kinds of lives people are living needs to be dissolved, but it seems impossible.
If I were a ruler or had some way to change things in our world, I would gain the support of other countries in trying to make our world peaceful and united. The only way you can do this is by allowing everyone to live in the same kind of environment, meaning that everyone has the freedom that we have today in the United States. Only when people have the same standards of living, can we have a peaceful world where everyone has the same quality of life.
Jessica H.
I am a 14-year old girl and I live in Grand Junction, CO, USA. My quality of life is very different from that of some other countries. I never go hungry and my water is clean. Pollution is a problem in everywhere. I feel safe where I live. I go to a good school and receive a good education.
I hope to continue this education until I am older. Until recently, I felt very safe in my school; safer, than other schools are. I love it in America because I can be anything or anybody I want to be. If I could change some things in the world this is what they would be.
I would like to make it possible for children in other countries to have an education so they can choose what they want to be.
Often, their families are in dept so the children have to work to pay off the dept and do not get to receive an education. The world could change this problem by sending the children to school during the growing season, but then during the planting and harvesting seasons allowing them stay at home and help out on the family farm.
I would also like for children in other countries to receive medical treatment. Some ways you can fix this problem is to have the children go to a doctor for yearly check ups. I would like for every child to have the quality of life like mine.

Jesusita R.
Hi, my name Jesusita R. and I live in Colorado. People are dying every minute of the day all around the world. Some of them are dying of starvation. Other's lives are threatened and people are in danger. They are unaware of how to improve their situation. If only they knew that a better life could be waiting for them, then they might have hope for a better future. In many places, children are not educated because they are poor.
I think every child, poor or not, deserves an education. People should stop polluting the Earth because pollution damages and destroys the world around us. If the world were not polluted, we would be able to see the beauty of the environment we live in. Violence often rules the world, and there is not enough peace. There are many threats in the world, some large and some not as large.
They should be taken seriously. Hopefully, terrorists seek help so that they know that what they are doing is wrong and is only endangering the world and the people within it. God gave each one of us the gift of life and the gift of free will.
No one should harm or threaten you because of your beliefs. A world full of peace and harmony seems impossible, but someday we will live in a world like that.

Justin R.
My name is Justin R. My quality of life is great. I complain a lot, but I shouldn't because compared to others in the world, I live in luxury. Where I live I can actually receive an education. I live where child labor laws protect me from working instead of learning. I like living in an area where my security isn't at stake, from threat of terrorists or other harmful things. I am never worried about going hungry.
I receive three square meals a day, instead of a lucky snack that I worked the entire day to earn. We always worry about the pollution in our city and its environment. Our water is clean and so is the air. We have set up plenty of parks and have saved our natural surroundings. We work hard so that our city won't become like so many others, with so much pollution that people get sick.
I love where I live, and hope it will never be changed. But if I had the chance to change some of the problems in the world, I would change the fact that many children cannot afford or just simply cannot go to school. The country and life for the people in the country cannot change unless there are some educated people out there to change it. I would also make it possible for all people to eat and not die of hunger. It is sad to know how many die of hunger each year, and I would do my best to change that.

Katie K.
In the United States, the quality life is very good. I do not have to worry much about violence in my community. Yet fighting in other countries does and will have an effect on the United States and me.
Violence in the world will have an effect on the way I live my life now, and how I will live my life in the future. If I could change the violence in the world I would. I want world peace. Everyone would live in harmony and love. This would change the future because everyone would be friends and live in peace.
I believe that I have a wonderful education. I am very lucky to be able to go to school and to pursue my dreams. I only wish everyone could have what I have. If this were to happen more people would be educated and more people would be working. Here in the United States, I do not have to worry about hunger or unclean water.
In my country, I have the freedom of religion. In some countries, people are killed for what they believe in. I think the best thing in my life is my freedom. Freedom is so important, and I am proud to live in America. There are many things that I wish I could change, in order to have a peaceful and perfect world.
|
|
Kayla M.
There are many things that I am lucky to have that many others do not, like electricity, good water, stoves, washers, coolers, and heaters. These things usually come standard in an American home. In many places, people have none of that except water, and that is often unsanitary. If it were up to me, this and many other things would change.
If I had the chance to change a few things, the first thing I would change would be the quality of the environment. This would help prevent people from getting sick, and help animals. Another thing I would change is the violence in the world. If violence were eliminated, the thousands of people at the world trade center, and countless other victims of war and hatred, would be alive again today.
I would also change the problem of hunger. Many people that say they are starving are using it just as an expression. Many other people are literally starving, and dying because of it. I would change the quality of education. Many people don't get a good enough education, and don't get a job that would pay enough to support their families. The last thing I would change would be pollution. Many animals would be saved, and many people would be alive and healthy. I wish I could do all these things, but I can not, so I will just do my best to help out.

Kevin H.
Hey, I'm Kevin H from Grand Junction Colorado in the United States of America. I think that the quality of life here in the United States is great. I never have to worry about water that I get; I never have to worry about the water being dangerous to my health. The education system has high standards. If these standards are not met, the school is often closed down.
Our environment is fine. Its not the greatest of problems like some people think it is. There are many more problems (like homeland security) that need to be taken care of first. Hunger is not nearly as bad in the US as it is in some countries. It still is a problem, however. Luckily, there are many kind-hearted people and organizations (including our government) out there who assist these people who are hungry. I hope that some day other countries may have the opportunities that the US has.

Leslie E.
My name is Leslie E. I am thirteen years old, yet even at this young age, I have seen a lot. Since the events of September 11, the quality of life seems to get worse each day for almost everyone in this world. It started one morning when two planes crashed into the twin towers in New York, another into the Pentagon, and a fourth somewhere in Pennsylvania. After that, came the letters that contained anthrax. Then came the bombs that were being found in mailboxes.
Not too long ago, there were the sniper attacks. Now there is even talk of us going to war with Iraq! It seems worse than any other time in history. You hear about kidnappings and school shootings. Just A while ago, we had a bomb threat at my school. You think "Oh none of that affects me or can happen to me." But it does. The way things are looking, we can't help unless we all try to stop the violence, and selfishness and start thinking about others.
Not only is violence a problem, but also the poorness of the world. We should all do something to help the poor people so they can get a good job that pays well so they can support their families. Pollution is also destroying this world. All the pollution is causing holes in the ozone layer and the greenhouse effect. Trees are being cut down from the rainforests, causing less oxygen to be produced. Lots of people in this world also want a peaceful world. I want a safe world. A world in which everyone has a good quality of life, and everyone is happy.

Pollution is one of the biggest problems in our country and in the rest of the world today. Having a clean environment to live in is important to everyone. Pollution is a problem that has to be solved quickly. If it gets any worse, it can ruin our way of life. Not only does if affect us, but it also affects the animals and other things in nature that breath the oxygen around us.
Pollutants floating around in the atmosphere make our breathing conditions very difficult. One of the greatest ambitions I have is to become a professional baseball player. Besides being a baseball player, I would love to find a way in the future to help prevent pollution in this world.
Matt S.
I live in Grand Junction,a town in Colorado, America. Many of the people in the world cannot take life or the quality of life for granted. The struggle of life is ongoing and every day people struggle just to survive. They have poor water quality and might not even have anything to drink or eat. Along with that they might be insecure about many things including violence.
They might even fear for their lives. People cannot work on improving their education when they are struggling to earn enough money to get something to eat or to buy a few clothes. These people lack many essentials. It is difficult for them to stay healthy. Many people can not experience any of life's joys or happiness. Instead they experience all of the hardships. I will do everything in my power to help them

Nicole N.
I have a very nice life. I feel very lucky to have a big family and live in the United States. My family is very precious to me because they are loving, caring, and very supportive. My mom has raised me and my two other siblings alone for a few years. So she taught me to be independent and strong. But now that I have a step dad and two more siblings, my life has been more fun. Now there are five children with loving parents, and my life is so interesting.
My quality of life is important to me because not everyone has as much as I do, so I do as much as I can to help those that are less fortunate around me. Having a great education is very important, and I feel lucky to have an education like mine. All of my teachers teach me new things, and help me when I need it. My goals for the future are to go to medical school, become a pediatrician, and to have a family. When and if I achieve these goals, I will do something for my family for supporting me for so long.
If I had the power to change something in the future, I would help everyone earn enough money to have a decent meal everyday, and stop malnutrition. I would help as many children as I could because I like them so much and want them to have a great life. I would stop wars, and have world peace. This is what the quality of life means to me.

Ryan B.
When I think about the quality of my life, I realize how fortunate I am. I have two parents and a brother who love me very much. I also have four grandparents and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins that love me and watch out for me. This means that if I have a problem or need something they are there for me. My family and I can afford clothes to clothe our bodies, unlike some kids around the world.
I have a home to live in and all the food I want to eat. If I am sick, my parents take me to the doctor and can afford to buy the medicine that I need to get well. Kids in other places in the world dont have food, shelter or medicine. Some kids live in the street and are used like slaves to make money. They have a whole family depending on them. These kids dont have parents. They are on their own. I have parents that work hard to support this family. I can depend on my parents.
All in all, it would be cool if all the kids around the world had enough food to eat, clothes to wear, and a place to sleep. If we could all live in peace and harmony then this world would be perfect. We all should help the kids that live on the street and dont have a family or any of the basics. They deserve a better quality of life.

Hi my name is Tanner M. and I live in Grand Junction, Colorado in the United States. I the States there is a lot of violence. There are many, many things that go on everyday like robberies, murderers, and people get I fights everyday. In Grand Junction there was a guy who killed his wife and daughter.
Every now and then, you will here about someone committing suicide or something. There are a lot of people who just to what they want but they are not following the rules and they are breaking the law. When I grow up I want to go to college and try to get into one that will give me a scholarship to play hockey.
If there where one thing I could change and that would be all of the violence, but there is one thing wrong, and that is that I do not know how that I would do it because I think that it would be very hard. I hope for the future to be much better than what it is like now.

Tye D.
I live a very nice life. I am a very fortunate person to be living in the United States and to have the many special possessions that I have. I have a loving family, hot meals, a home, and an education. Many people in today's world do not have the things that I have. They may be orphans, who are hungry, suffering with malnutrition, or they may be unable to attend school. Quality of life can be measured by the way you live your daily life.
In order to change the quality of life of those less fortunate, I would ask everyone to help out in anyway they can. We can all help to make adoption agencies, food, shelters and schools available. By doing these things, I would be able to make other people's lives much better.
For the future, many improvements could be made in today's society. Improvements in education, the environment, and hunger are all possible. When everyone contributes, we would be able to help less fortunate people.
We could build schools, hire teachers, and gather learning tools for children who once were unable to receive an education. To improve the living environment of others, we could purify water, cut down on waste and pollution, and clean up living areas.
To fix the hunger problem in the World, we could donate, give, and cook food for those who are unable to receive one meal a day. By helping other people I would not only change their quality of life but also mine. When everyone helps out we will be able to create a clean, caring, and helpful World.
