I think somewhat perfect societies are possible if we get rid of problems. To begin with, there are a lot of problems in this world because of weapons. People get killed a lot because someone was either playing with a weapon or really wanting to kill someone with a weapon.
Weapons are very dangerous and they do not need to be around people that are going to harm someone with it, so therefore we do not need weapons in our society. Next, drugs are very harmful to society. Drugs make people do stupid and harmful activities. I think if people realize that drugs harm themselves and other people then they will keep them out of our society.
Drugs are only leading to a suffering death. Last, crime is a horrible activity in society. There are a lot of different types of crimes that we need to get rid of. For instance, we need to get rid of murderers. We dont need people in the society killing and taking a persons life for no reason.
Another crime that we dont need in our society is robbery. People that get robbed do not deserve to have someone steal something that they bought with there own money. In conclusion, somewhat perfect societies are possible if people realize what these harmful activities are doing to the society and stop them from happening.

I think that a perfect society cannot happen. It is just an unbelievable idea. Most children would not follow the rules. Even the adults would not follow them. Children have the habits that would be forbidden in the "perfect world." For example, children would get into trouble every day for getting bad grades or getting into an argument with a brother or sister. A lot of adults like to leave their children with babysitters and go out.
They couldn't do that in a perfect world. They would have to stay home and be 100% devoted to their kids. Many people do not like change. They like to stay the same, and cannot adjust to new surroundings and rules very quickly.
Everyone is used to the way we are living now. People from other places would come and destroy it also. It could even start a second Civil War. There would probably be even more violence and hate than there is now already! Mainly everything in the present is fine because nothing, or anybody, can be perfect. Me, or whoever was trying to change the world would have a hard time.

I dont ever think our world could be a Utopian society. There is just too much we cant change in our world such as violence, jealousy, pre-teen pregnancy, divorce, robbery, and so much more. Even if we help prevent these cruel acts, I myself dont think we could have a perfect world.
To have a perfect world it takes a lot. There could not be any disobeying what so ever. Everyone would have to behave and not do a thing wrong. I highly doubt that with all the pregnancies, divorces, and violence that this world would be a perfect world. With this information people may think our world is horrible but it isnt totally bad.
There are some good things in our world, such as helping others, caring, and many other things, but not enough to change the world into a Utopian society. Some people may think they can change the world and yet some people have made an attempt to, but this world our world would take a lot to change. Every individual person would have to make an effort to change the world. Not just one person can change the world by themselves. It takes a world to change a world.

I do think that utopian societies are a good idea. They are a good idea because it will stop the crime. If there is no crime there is no killing and if there is no killing there is no death. Also, in utopia you are not allowed to love. In Junior High that is all people talk about. When they talk about it, they worry about it and not about how much their grades are slipping.
Without love we will have more smart people. The last reason is because in the utopian society that we are reading about there are no wars. If we could have had a Utopian society what happened on September 11th wouldnt have happened. We wouldnt have been attacked and hundreds of people wouldnt have died. We really need a Utopian society to help us out. We need a way to have peace through out the land and a utopian society seems like the only way we can get that peace.

Utopia could be a true place if we took out weapons, drugs, and under age pregnancy out of the United States. To start off with, the United States would have to give up weapons that are not needed. For example, nobody should have weapons in their houses, because that is how most children die. This could prevent younger child from killing themselves, and others.
This could also make families happier, because they have not lost a loved one from weapons. If there are weapons they should be in the army area, so we can still protect our country from others.
Next, America should take out any kind of drugs. If drugs are removed, they can prevent people from start fights, or killing anyone, even their selves. Society could prevent teens from getting pregnant by taking out the drugs.
There are extreme times when we should have the drugs, like when we are sick. Then, the people in the United States will need to eliminate under age pregnancy. For example, if they do then all the kids could finish school, and not worry about raising a kid right now. This could also prevent kids from growing up in a bad area, and being a bad person.

I don't think a Utopia can be obtained in our world because that is something beyond human reach. It is beyond human reach because nobody will listen except the good people, and not all people are good. Utopia is unattainable because who is going to change the way people are? Nobody will. They can try, but it would be useless because you can't just go to anybody and tell them to be a good person. They wouldn't listen to you. Utopia is aloof because nobody can change what God created. God let us to be free and gave us options on which type of person we want to be. You could try, but it won't be such an easy task.

A positive future in my opinion would be Utopia. If I had to get rid of three problems these are the problems that I would get rid of. I think that Utopia is possible if you get rid of weapons, fighting, and world hunger. To start with, weapons. Weapons make some people more scared of others. If you get rid of guns then some of the other countries wouldnt be as afraid of some of the other countries.
Another weapon you could get rid of and be closer to Utopia is knives. Then people wouldnt be able to stab one another. Utopia is also possible if you get rid of fighting. People wouldnt be getting hurt and into fights. This would stop lots of wars from happening. I think that fighting would be the most important thing to get rid of.
You could get rid of wrestling and boxing that way kids wont make someone in that situation be their hero and they wouldnt want to be that when they grow up. World hunger is another problem you should get rid to make the world come together. You should have to split up the food equally. If everyone gets enough food then they will stop fighting. To get Utopia you would have to get rid of weapons, world hunger, and fighting.

I think a Utopian society would be a great future for my life, but it would be hard to get. The reason I think that is because for one there are too many criminals that will not obey. They would still break the law like they always do.
Also, there is too much pollution. Since there is so much, it couldnt be cleaned up, and the population would fall. Finally, Utopia couldnt be achieved because too many laws would be broken. No matter what, people will always lie. Its part of some peoples character. Thats why we cant have a Utopian society.

I do not think that a Utopian society or "perfect world" is possible and this is why. First, I think that there is no way to get rid of all the weapons in the world. If you think you have then there will always be a gang or a community or possibly a country with some.
Secondly, crime is really hard to get rid of in every corner of the world. Crime will never end I think; it will probably get harder and harder to deal with as the years go by. There will always be an anti-peace or faction somewhere planning when to attack. Another reason is hatred. You cannot get rid of all of the hatred in the world; that will be an obstacle we will never overcome.
Also, power
the more power people have the more they are going to use it on anything in their way. Finally, communist run countries are no way to go. They will take control of anything within their reach, even if they have to fight for it. That is why I dont think that a Utopian society is attainable.

This is why I think we couldnt ever have utopia. First of all, its never going to be possible because of our weapons. The army is creating bigger and better weapons, like our bombs. The only reason we make those is just to blow up other countries. The market is putting better weapons out for sale. That just causes more violence in the world, and that wont help at all to even have a possibility of achieving Utopia.
There is no chance we would stop making weapons, because if we didnt have any weapons other countries would destroy us. Another reason we wouldnt have a chance with Utopia is our drug problem. We couldnt ever get rid of drugs. If we tried to, people would be so addicted they would just keep growing it and introduce it to little kids.
Last but not least, the other reason I think its not possible is because of the pollution. Most of our world couldnt survive without factories or cars. Then there are some of our inventions that pollute the world. Theres no way people could give up a car or a company giving up their factory. A wise person once said "You can make some of the people happy some of the time, you cant make all the people happy all the time." Thats why I think Utopia is impossible.

I believe Utopia, while difficult, is attainable. Three tasks are needed to be completed to ensure this. One of these tasks is the destruction of drugs.
Because of drugs, people die, kill others, act foolishly, and disobey laws. Also, a perfect world does not need drugs. Another task is eliminating war. Many people die in the smallest of wars.
Utopia could not be achieved if people are killed for little or no reason at all. Finally, food and water are important steps toward Utopia. Many people die each day of hunger, and thirst.
Elsewhere, those who dont need it have piles upon piles of food. The food would be distributed equally in a perfect world. In conclusion, while many other issues would need tending, warfare, drugs, and starvation/thirst are three problems that can be eliminated, and would bring Utopia closer to us all.

I feel that Utopia is not possible because we have three things that we need to get rid of. These three things are weapons, stealing, and murdering. First, we need to get rid of weapons. People are afraid when somebody has a weapon around. Nobody wants to take a trip to the hospital because someone hurt him or her. Next, we need to get rid of stealing. If the only way for a person to get what they want is by stealing, that is their fault. My older brother steals anything that does not belong to him. He always steals something from me.
Finally, we need to get rid of murder. No one likes to hear that his or her friends or family members got killed. People become sad most of their lives when someone they love are gone. Being murdered is a lot worse than just dying like a normal person. I do not think we can get rid of those three, but if we did our lives would be a lot better.

A utopian society would be possible if we got rid of a few problems. First of all, one of these problems is stealing.
When someone steals from you and you find out you might want to steal from them or you just might get a horrible feeling in your stomach.
And another reason not to steal is because in the bible it says, "Thou shall not steal," so is a reason by itself not to steal. Also, if you steal what do you think your parent(s) will think, what do you think God would think? Next, another problem we might have is people and their sense of humor. I think people in our society are too serious all the time.
On April Fools day some people like to joke around and act silly. If people in our society take out at least one of the hours in their day to just relax, Im sure everyone would get along better. And the third problem I think is lack of tolerance for different religions. When September 11th took place people started getting mad at all Islam.
It wasnt all of them - just some radical group.
We are not responsible for our parents or the people of the same religion as us. I also think that if our religion is different from someone elses religion, we should respect their beliefs and customs not go and attack them. These are some of the problems I think we need to get rid of for a perfect world

A Utopian society is very possible and realistic if we get rid of some objects in our country. There are three main obstacles to having a Utopian society. First of all, the main obstacles are weapons. Weapons such as guns, knifes, and bombs can be deadly and are used for revenge, to kill, and to harm others.
Those weapons can also do a lot of damage to people and other objects. Also, another obstacle and big problem is drugs. The drugs mess up peoples minds, kills, and cause people to do wrong.
If you got rid of drugs there would be less vandalism. Besides that, there are horrible CDs that give kids and adults bad ideas.
CDs put bad thoughts and ideas in peoples heads because of what the song is saying. They also lead kids and immature adults into doing bad crimes. Those things cause us to break to many laws. Without them it makes the world a better place. All in all, that would be the only way we Americans could accomplish a utopian society.

Nick C.
Yes, I think we can achieve Utopia but we must first overcome these three obstacles that are serious problems in our world. The first major priority is to destroy all the weapons in the world. This will stop wars, murder, and even accidents with weapons, which mainly kills that person who was in the accident with the weapon. Weapons are very dangerous, so to achieve Utopia we must destroy them.
Another important step is to cure diseases. This will stop deaths from aids, cancer, smallpox, and many more. Diseases are very harmful to the body, but some have all ready been destroy. Some will kill you over a period of time. Some will kill you immediately.
The last major concern preventing us from obtaining Utopia is drugs. The reason to get rid of beer, cigarettes, cigars, wine, pot, cocaine, crack, etc is because they will kill you if you keep doing them so thats why to get rid of drugs. These are some of the major obstacles to overcome in order to obtain Utopia, but there are many more problems to overcome but are not as great a threat.

I think we should have a Utopian society for many reasons. That would be wonderful because we wouldnt have drugs and a lot of problems in the world.
We wouldnt have under aged drinking or smoking. We would have certain times we would have to do things, like when you turn nine you would get a bike, and you couldnt get one earlier then the age of nine no matter what you said or did.
You also get to work at a place of your choice to help people while you are younger. People wouldnt die as much as they do now because you couldnt have guns, knives, or any other kind of weapons. Kids wouldnt be able to get taken off the side of the street like they do now. Kids also wouldnt be able to fight each other and get hurt as much as they do now.
People wouldnt be able to eat whatever they want and whenever they want and that would solve some of the problems that are going on in the world now. All of the kids would have to go to school and not be able to skip it. Then that would make them be more educated than some of the people today. Thats why I think everyone should work toward making a Utopian society.

Utopian societies cannot be in our future. First of all utopian life will not happen because there is too much violence. Even if you take every weapon away, that still wont stop the violence. Many people were born and raised around violence. The second reason is items from stores are being stolen.
You cant get around it; everybody steals every now and then. That is just the way our society works. Finally, Utopian life wont work because of all the laws or rules. Utopia has so many rules or laws, they would get broken often. People would go to jail over broken laws. Maybe now you know why or society cannot live a Utopian lifestyle.

Trisha F.
A Utopian community is not likely to happen thanks to mankind having free will and using it for good and bad. Utopia may sound great, but there is no possible way to accomplish it and no one is really going to like it once it is accomplished.
First of all, Utopia is not realistic because people like to make there own decisions. In Utopia you would not be able to make up you own mind good or bad. People dont like to be told what to do or how to do it.
Next, Utopia is not realistic because people have free will. Once people were able to make up their own decisions, world peace or Utopia became impossible. It is impossible now because people make bad decisions and there is no way to fix all of them.
Also, people always break rules, adding more rules would not change a thing. To this day people go to jail for breaking rules, and adding more rules is not going to stop them because it will be more rules to break. Besides that, who wants to live in a perfect world? I know that I sure do not want to live in a predictable world. If you knew what was going to happen, what fun would life be? We have always had a free will, and taking it away is not going to make the world a better place.
I expect my community to get dull and boring with Utopia because the world will be predictable and no fun. All in all, Utopia is not possible thanks to mankind because we have free will and with free will we can make our own decisions, but we have to live with other peoples decisions, good or bad.
