I recognize that right now I am incredibly ignorant to the world around me. I only communicate with a very small group of people who are supporting me and pushing me to a successful future. I realize that having these oppurtunities is unusual, and I try not to take them for granted. I hope that I will find my purpose in this world when it comes time to decide what to do with my life.
Whenever a terrible tragedy occurs close to home, we are once again reminded of the vast number of unsolved problems just in our own community, not even considering the events on the rest of the planet. True world peace is impossible to achieve among humans, but there is certainly room for improvement. It is the nature of all humans to begin to live life only for themselves if the suffering of others is not often called to our attention. But it is also amazing how generous people can be.
I can only hope that I will always remember to serve others at the same time I serve myself. I can always trust my family to guide me in the right direction when I forget, as I do so often. I am still a child, but soon I must find my purpose in life. I believe that a better world can be achieved if everyone finds a passion or a true reason for living. Many people never come to realize what is important to them until their lives are ending, when it is too late to change. The best contribution they can give to their world is to teach their children what is important, and hope that they will remember and live fulfilling lives.

Peace, a word in which people put all their hopes when their world is ripped apart. War-torn countries have never known peace, yet I have never known anything but pacifism. My world has never been at war; here in the U.S the only tragedy that I’ve ever truly witnessed and knew about was the horrific attack on the twin towers in New York. This terrible incident has led the way to many more disturbances of the peace here in our country. Things like “The War on Terrorism” and now the invading of Iraq have struck me as different and absurd. However, I cannot shut my eyes and ears to this and it will always affect my life.
Peace in some countries is unheard of and many people are ignorant of it. The warring countries in the Middle East are always in conflict, whether it is religious differences or racial beliefs, it is always the same. To solve these cataclysmic fights we need to help these people on a large scale.
The Red Cross and many other organizations such as the Peace Corps have worked on supplying these poverty-stricken countries with food and other much needed provisions. To help out with these issues we should stop these horrible wars in the Middle East and begin to show what is right and what is not. I am not saying that we should change their culture but they should understand things such as women’s rights. Despite the sheltered life I live, I know that I can make a difference, whether I save up money to donate to the Salvation Army or just help out by helping my own community. No matter how unimportant you think you are, you can always begin change by giving a helping hand wherever it is needed. Peace...

Lucky. That is one word that describes my life. I feel extremely lucky to be able to eat food, whenever I desire, and to have clothes on my body. I know there are many people in this world who do not have the luxuries that I do, and I feel bad for all of those people, and I wish there was someway to help.
For my cousin’s graduation last year, I went to Washington D.C. As I walked back to the hotel, after getting some food from the store, I saw something that made my heart sink. A man with raggedy clothes was digging through the trashcan to eat a half-eaten sandwich, or to slurp up the last bit of Coke someone had thrown away. I looked down at the food in my hand, and it made me realize how fortunate I am.
Poverty is one issue that I feel strongly about, but I am also against violence and war. President Bush seems to almost want to go to war with Iraq, and I strongly disagree. “War, huh? What is it good for? Absolutely nothing.” Those are the lyrics from a famous song, and I think that artist has gotten a good point across. I agree with him, and I think war is not the answer, and that there should be a way to solve our conflicts peacefully.
After thinking long and hard about my life, I know that I am blessed. I do not live in a place of poverty, where food, shelter, and clothing are scarce, but in a place where happiness is easy to find. The quality of my life is very good, and I am pleased with my life. I hope that someday all people will enjoy the same happy life that I do.

I think that pollution is a big problem in the world today. It destroys our O-Zone and it makes it hard to breathe. In cities, it also stinks. Have you ever smelled pollution? It’s so smelly. It stinks like trash and smoke and it is just not right.
How would you like to have your trash destroying our earth? I mean, come on! People throw their trash wherever they want and when it gets full they throw it some place else. I saw someone sitting in their driveway in their car while it was running and the car was putting out so much smoke, he wasn’t even driving!
But, there is something we can do about it. We can recycle and we can sometimes ride a bike someplace once in a while instead of driving there. Besides, don’t we all have to live in this world?
When I see somebody throwing trash on the ground, I pick it up and throw it away. I shouldn’t have to do this. People should throw away their own trash in the trashcan.
There is also noise pollution. Like in the city, people walk around with boomboxes with the volume cranked up to the top. It is so loud! I think that pollution is the worst. My idea of a perfect world would be a world with no pollution.

I can change the world by doing many big or little things. I could clean up a highway, create a walk for cancer, leukemia or any disease, or recycle all cans, newspapers, and bottles.
Many people don't realize that every little bit helps to make a difference to someone who is sick, underprivileged or even having a hard time with their family or work. Some people are starving or suffering from a deadly disease. You should use what you have and help those people or find the way to change the world for the generations to come.
I have done some little things that will hopefully help the world. A couple years ago I went to Jamaica and they had some kittens that young visitors would feed and make sure they were not missing. I fed them and took care of them. One day, one of the kittens got his paw stuck in a kite rope. It got so tight that I used a butter knife and cut it off. My dad, who is a doctor, looked at it and said that it was bleeding and very swollen. He also said if I didn't find the kitten, the kitten could have died.
For my bat mitzvah, I also did some community work. A home for cats was opened. They would go from the SPCA to the home, where they would be adopted. I helped out there for four months and became very attached and happy for the cats when they were adopted.
I hope you will consider helping the world in small or big ways. If you are already doing something, I hope you will continue to do so and maybe save someone’s or something’s life.

I think that my life as an adult would definitely benefit from the things that our generation does to help each other and our environment. If we sit and let the world become a polluted dump for all the junk we have accumulated, what is it going to look like for our grandchildren? This is why I believe we need to change the way Americans and other people from well-off countries think and how they live their lives.
If people continue to take things for granted, we may end up in a polluted and destroyed world sooner than we think. Right now, many people leave lights on, or waste water every day. No one thinks about all the people in the world who don't even have homes, or running water. We should all just try to be more careful about the things we use every day.
The American population in general also needs to start using less food. We all take full stomachs and three meals a day for granted when there are so many people in the world with no food at all. We should try using smaller portions and putting extra food in compost bins or something of that nature. Not only will this help people in other places, but it will also benefit our planet as a whole. Composting and recycling are also some things we can try to do more often. It will help preserve our planet and make the world a better place to live in for everyone.
These are all some things that I think can help the people and everyone else we share our world with. So, every time you’re eating or doing anything else involving water or electricity, remember all the people in our world. I hope everyone will be more considerate towards the world and the beings in it.

Every morning I wake up in a wonderful suburban area in the United States of America - the “land of the free.” The morning also brings a day full of worries like what is the weather going to be like, how safe is school, will my grade go down because I forgot to do homework or what am I going to wear to school? I always think about myself. But, when I realize that, I begin to feel ashamed for thinking only of my life when there is a world full of others.
I am surrounded by a world of middle-class people like myself and never see people struggling to get food or money. I have all my needs catered for by others. I have lots of family, friends, food and enough money to be happy.
Then, when I thought everything was all right, September 11th happened only a few hours from my house. Ever since then, locked away inside of me, is a feeling of insecurity. I will never forget that day in my head as it repeats like a broken record. Since then, I started worrying a lot about my safety.
September 11th made me realize how fortunate I was that none of my family or friends were killed or hurt. It made me want to help people who were suffering in third world countries and in my neighborhood. I try to help out with charity because I know how much more fortunate I am than other people. I always think about others and shed a tear for people that are not enjoying a great life the way I am.
I think I have a great life and want to live it to the fullest. I will always think of others and try to help the less fortunate than I and help the handicapped (like my brother). I adore my grand life!

My quality of life is based on how much love and friendship I feel daily, monthly, yearly even for my lifetime. I don't base mine on money, because if you have money, does it really make you happier as a person? Can it make you have real friends and have your family love you? I don't believe it can. However, my family is not exactly rolling in money, so if I believe that my quality of life is based on money and the "happiness" it buys, then I would be frowning and moping all the time.
When I grow up, I expect that my community will give me the respect I deserve for my accomplishments, and not vanquish any of my hopes or dreams with hateful, spiteful words and actions. I say this because my dream since first grade has been to be a woman president. (Maybe not the first, but one at least.) I think that it is pretty amazing that I have had this dream for all of this time, since I am now a seventh grader.
When I was in first grade, I said I wanted to be president just because everyone had weird career aspirations, and I thought that being president was weird and cool - plus, you get to be famous and travel all around the world! Now I want to be president for completely different reasons. (Okay, well, maybe I do want to be famous and travel!) One of those reasons is that I can and will be able to make a change in our country, maybe even in the world
One of the first changes I would make would be to cut down on poverty and world hunger. I know I may have a pretty obvious way of changing the world, but I hope that both my dream for and my dream to change the world come true

The world today is very different than what it will be in the future and what it was millions of years ago. The people have changed and so have the plants and animals. The way our ancestors lived and the way we are living right know is almost a completely different world.
We do not wear the same things they wore; we do not eat most of the same food; and the way we go about our daily lives is very different. My main point is we are a moving human race and do not, and will not, stay with the same quality of life for a very long period of time. We have always tried to find ways to improve our life or tools and inventions to make our lives easier. The quality of life is very different in different parts of the world that we now live in. Some people are rich, some are poor - there are endless differences. Some people can get all the food, money, and riches they want, while others have not enough food or provisions to get through a week.
My hope for the future is that all people have a chance to be equal in the way they live for at least one day so the more fortunate people can see how lucky they are. My quality of life is very good, compared to some unfortunate people around the world. My question is what of the people who don't have the food they need? I know by news and television shows that there are so many suffering children and adults out there, whose state- and quality of life is so pitiful that it should make even a very tough person upset.
One way I think that we can ensure a better and positive future is by making sure that the unfortunate people who do not have much get provisions to make their way of life better.

I think that life in America is fantastic. We have no slavery, no woman is ever thought of as just a cook or a cleaner and most people respect other peoples' differences. America has come together after 9/11, and Americans have been more patriotic and appreciative of what they have. I, for one, am very lucky. My family is happy and healthy, and they love me.
I live in a nice house in a great neighborhood. I am fortunate enough to have clothes to wear and shoes to put on my feet, but some people aren’t as lucky as I am.
Another issue that is very important to me is violence. Ever since guns and swords have been introduced to the United States, riots and homicides have been larger than ever! Unnecessary homicides have been happening so much. Just today, I heard of a person who got drunk with his buddy, and there were only two more beers in the refrigerator. One of the men took a beer and told his friend to stay away from the other one. Of course the man’s friend took the last beer, and his best friend shot him to death!
Some games influence young children to use their parents' guns, but I don’t think parents should even keep a gun in their house. Security systems are a great way to protect your family, and they cannot hurt anyone. Some security systems even cost less than guns do.
In conclusion, I think that some people in America take life for granted and don’t respect what they have. I also think that violence is unnecessary, and that the world would be a better place without it. Please keep in mind that having a weapon in your house might change your children’s lives forever.

In my opinion, the world is a wonderful place. There is separate peace in every country, but separate peace is not enough. There are wars and violence, but no peace. If we all had peace, we could work together to do something big.
There would be no violence and wars. Nobody would be murdered or killed. Nobody would have to worry about his or her brothers going to war. Everybody would have their complete family for Christmas, because there wouldn’t be any relatives fighting in Afghanistan, or any other country. Nobody would have to go through the trouble of seeing family die because of war.
There would be no hunger, because the whole world would work together to feed the hungry. Nobody would starve to death, and there would be no misery in the world.
We could work together to free the Earth of pollution. The oceans would be clean, and all the animals could live in a safe environment.
My life is very good, and I get a lot of things I don’t really need. While I get all the food and water I need, some people are dying of thirst and hunger. I have shelter and a big backyard. Others are living on the streets, and people rarely think about how much they really have.
We are very lucky to have a good education like we have today. We learn everything we need to know. We even learn foreign languages. Teachers try very hard to make the best of our future by teaching us as much as possible.
If we had world peace, then we could work together to achieve new goals and we could enjoy a world with no flaws, where everyone is happy.

In my eyes, the quality of life differs between people. For a person like me, it is easy to take all we have for granted. In most homes in the U.S., children complain about not having “name-brand” clothing or not being able to go to the movies. In other parts of this country and others, children complain about not having any clothes at all! Or, they worry about how to survive without food. Our life is easier than the majority of the world, and yet we always need to have more and more.
Another strong topic for me is the amount of violence in our world today. I think it would be interesting to do an experiment like this one. Every night, for at least a week, watch the news and record how many murders, shootings, rapes and beatings there are each day. After you record the results, look at the totals for each category. I guarantee that the numbers will be higher than you expected. The point of all this is that there is more violence today then there has ever been in a long time. I find it very important to try to lower these numbers and stop all the violence.
Education in some schools also has a lot to do with quality of life. My aunt is a teacher in Philadelphia. The work of a teacher there is almost unbearable. Every day at her school my aunt has to break-up many fights. Also, some of the thirty kids in her fourth grade classroom can’t read at all. My aunt gets threatened every day, and even has a student who is on probation. My point is that education in the city is very challenging and needs a lot of improvement. Overall, quality of life is very important to me, and I believe that we should be thankful for all we have.

When I think of a good life, I think of sunny beaches, and lots of ice cream and all that good stuff. But to some people, a good life is being together as a family and having enough food for their children because they don’t even have that.
Many families are subject to unfair treatment from their governments. They don’t have enough land to farm on, or good drinking water, or medical care. In order to survive, they must tear apart the environment that is giving them life.
Quality of life should be the same for all people, young and old, rich and poor, male and female. Why should people be living in mansions and have six cars when there are people who have to walk six miles just to get contaminated drinking water?
Quality of life should also be the same for the plants and animals we share this world with. If we treat the environment with respect, we are treating ourselves with respect, because the earth is what gives us life.
I believe that the first step towards helping bring peace and quality of life to this world is to become aware of the poverty and violence around us. With awareness comes understanding, and when people understand the situation, they will realize that the path to peace means to share and to give. They will learn that the best solution is not to go to war or ignore poverty in the hope that it will eventually go away. It is to be grateful for what you have, and to help others get what they need. It is to plant a tree, and recycle a can. It is to be kind to your enemies. It is to stand up for the peace you believe in. As long as there are people in this world who believe in this, there will be peace.

A life full of good quality is the most important thing in the world. Everyday, American students are taking advantage of their lives. They claim that their lives may be worthless and boring, but if they compared their lives to the lives of some other people living in various countries, they will truly feel they are blessed.
Every morning when I wake up, I almost always have something to complain about. But, when I read a book or learn about other areas of the world, I truly feel that I am very lucky. I feel as if I would like to make a change for the people who are living lives of poverty and starvation. I also want to help improve the environment.
I used to claim that I really wanted to help people and the environment, but I never really got anywhere. After I tried once and it failed, I gave up. Now I try to be persistent and continue to help people. After attending a religious session every Sunday for over 8 years, I learned that even one person could make a difference. I can collect trash from parks and other areas around me for a start. Also, I normally donate money to education funds.
I hope that one day I will be able to help people all around the world. After hearing about people such as Mohandas Gandhi, Winston Churchill and Martin Luther King Jr. I would like to make a change too. “We should be the change we wish to see,” are the words of Mohandas K. Gandhi, a peacemaker. This quote inspires me to do something, not just wait for someone else to do it. It tells me that if I want something to be changed, then I must work hard towards this.

Life is not the same today as it was many years ago. Man has created things that bring violence and suffering to the world. Those things were what caused many wars and conflicts between countries. Now, there is a war going on in the Middle East and many people are dying and getting hurt because of what life is today. Stopping all of this violence and war can insure a positive future. We can all work together and stop this by working together to make friends and diminish hate.
We can make a change in reality by making peace. Peace, in my mind, is when there is no violence, no suffering, and no segregation. Everyone was created equally and they should be treated that way. We can make this a reality by doing volunteer work whenever you get an opportunity and donating time, money, clothes and food to a local shelter. We can also work to stop wasting so other people can have things that we may take for granted. We can do this by using all of our resources wisely and, whenever you can, recycle or help the environment in any way that you can. We can work against the violence by trying not to cause problems in the first place. We can also work against this by helping each other and supporting each other in order to keep everybody together.
Now, the quality schools are different from the past, but in some places, we still can improve. In some third world countries, some people can't even go to school, because they have to work so their families can have money for food. We can help by doing all of the above so families can have food and kids have time to get an education. When we all work together, the world can be a different place--a different, but better place.

I think that to make the world a better place, we need to be ourselves more often. People who express their beliefs, culture and individuality also have more respect for the way other people express themselves. What I mean to say is, if you are the way you want to be, and not the way someone else wants you to be, you will start to understand the way other people think--like getting inside their heads.
In other countries, where people are not as fortunate as I am, some people have to wear their hair the same way, are forced to believe in the same things, or abide by some laws that are against their better judgment. I think the 'way of the world' should be live free or die. It's all about expressing how you feel while trying to help others at the same time. But, if you only do what you want, than the world will still go down hill. You also have to take into consideration the feelings of others.
But also, where I live, there is alot of teasing about people who dress, talk, walk, and look different. These are all superficial things and you should really get to know someone before you judge them. And yet, we all do it. "She is so ugly." "His hair is so stupid." Being 'popular' seems to take over our lives, and that's not what counts.
There will always be people that judge the outside and not the inside but, if we all try a little harder, maybe we can achieve something bigger. I think we'll call it 'Project Respect'
In conclusion, what I think that we can do to change the world for the better is, to do what you feel is right in your heart, but respect people for what is in theirs. Put 'Project Respect' into action.

I think that, in general, I have a great life. The thing that I appreciate most about living, is being a citizen of America. I realize that sometimes everyone takes advantage of living in America. I admit that I do this too. All people get mad and upset about things that they shouldn’t stress over.
We don’t realize that there are many people in the world that are much less fortunate than we are. Sometimes, when I get mad or upset about something stupid, I stop and think, “Should I really be mad about something like this?” That’s when I realize that in other countries, and even in America, people are starving. Some people don’t get equal rights. Sometimes innocent people are killed just for their religion, race, or standing up for their own rights.
I think that our first step on the path to world peace is realizing that there are people out there that we need to help. We have to stop our everyday lives just for a few minutes to stop and think, “How can I help someone who is starving, or who doesn’t get any presents for the holidays?” You can’t just stop there. After you feel bad for someone who is less fortunate, you have to do something about it! Give money to a local charity. Give canned food to a food drive. Participate in a walk for cancer. Do something to help the people around you. It’s up to the children of today to make peace tomorrow.

The view of peace is different to everyone today. Viewing the world through my head would show a rolling field of grass. Wild animals would wonder towards you and not be afraid. But... not everyone sees the world like I do. Hitler was a fanatic, trying to "purge" the world of all he deemed as "unworthy" to exist in the world. Presently, the Taliban are trying to terrorize us, creating a prejudice that some Americans hold against those who weren’t involved in the attacks.
Our world that we live in was not created like this. Earth was a home to nomadic people, providing their every need. But now, we have tipped the balance, instead of the people being equal in all terms of power and money, many have thrived in an abundance of luxury and money, while those who survive in poverty, struggle to live at all. Pollution has corrupted our air, water and generally, our world. Acid rain is proof of the level of our pollution, raining down on tombstones, eroding the markings of the deceased. This does not help the living conditions of the poor.
As an adolescent, I can try to help people strive for a better world of peace by encouraging them to persevere and tell them what a great job they have been doing. To help the poor and even up the balance of power and money, I can organize a fund to donate to the poor. To stem a small flow of pollution, I can recycle and reuse.
As an adult, I plan on becoming a philanthropist. Then I can help the poor by encouraging the rich to help improve living conditions for the poor. As for those who wish for war, I can help them see why a war would not and could not help humanity. This is a dream shared by many, but because of our numbers, it will, someday be a reality

Noah S.
Here, in the United States, we have some good things and some that is not as great every day. We have a great homeland security system, but there are still some things that we cannot control and that just happen to slip by. For example, we had the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. I do not think there was ever anything that happened in the United States and to its people that was as harmful and devastating as the attack on September 11.
America’s response to the attack was to retaliate against the Taliban (the people who committed the act of terror). They bombed them trying not to harm all others living in their home, Afghanistan. Some people say that we should not have retaliated, since we were just creating more violence in the world. I think it was the right thing to do because it was effective and there have not been any attacks since.
Now that the Taliban has been taken care of there is only one big problem still to solve. There are many children and adults all starving in Afghanistan and other places in the world.
Starvation is a very big problem all around the world. It is such a big problem that I think it is starting to kill off part of a certain group of people mostly in the Middle East. Their government either cannot or will not support them. The United States may be able to help them. They need to send people over to the Middle East to get them to go to a different place or to try harder to support themselves. That is what I think on the topic of starvation and world peace.
|
|
Leanne S.
Compared to other people, my life is great. I have a nice house, friends, family, food, and good education. I would like to fix the starvation that is in other countries, and create peace between all nations and people. Usually, when I awake I don’t think about what is happening to others--like the fact that some people are dying, starving, and even homeless. However, when I see the news, I am instantly reminded of what is going on in the world.
Sometimes, I think that whatever I do to help others is not good enough because there are so many people in the world that need help. When I am in my enrichment class at school, we do a lot of things to help with peace such as writing peace diaries, writing to foreign schools, and making peace calendars. When making the calendar, every person in the enrichment program created a picture or wrote a poem. When we were finished we sent it to a printing company and sent one copy to each representative from our state, and the President of the United States. The profit we make from the calendars is sent to the local Red Cross.
I believe that the only reason why we have war and debates is because we all have our own mind and opinion. If we could learn how to respect others and their thoughts, the world would be a lot less violent. I think that this is the first step to have in worldwide peace. If we can get people our age to be more respectful it’s possible that when we grow up there will be a better generation. It is hard to decipher the line between being respectful and letting people take control over you. I am going to try to learn how to be independent, strong-willed, stick to my beliefs, and still stay respectful.

I think that a positive future would be having enough food for everyone, saving the rainforests so everyone will be able to share them, and stopping all the violence in the world. Give wealth and food with others, saving our Earth, whom has so graciously let us live on her for so many years. Instead of wasting food, you could give it to people that don't have alot of food or money to buy it. You can also strive to get the rainforests protected by the governments that own them.
But, instead, we fight amongst each other. We are killing many every year, and tearing down our rainforest like it is a bunch of old trees. As we fight, we are not just destroying people around us; we are destroying the very places we have lived for so long.
We need to stop the killing and destroying of our home and work together to face the larger problems facing all of us. We need to stop the hunger and the spread of diseases when we have the medication to stop it. We need to find better ways to run cars without pollution and find a better way to build homes than building homes on our rainforests, which have provided plants to stop diseases and maybe more that we haven't found.
I think it is great that so many people make huge organizations to bring about peace in the world. But, you don't have to do that. All you have to do is help at a local soup kitchen, donate time or money to the Red Cross, or even join the Peace Corp and go to a third world country and help the people there with the knowledge you bring.
As you see, it's not that hard to save the world--just give a little effort and you'll help the entire world become a better place to live.

Quality of life is such an important thing. My friends and family mean so much to me that, that alone would be enough for me to say is the quality of my life. Unfortunately, some things are more important in life that just your family and friends. The right to be treated with equality is very important. More and more people are being given more rights and equality. But not everyone has full rights.
My goal is that, in the future, everyone around the world will have equal rights. Not only about equality with others, but with religion also. People could help to do this by not having prejudice and allowing for this change. This little thing I think is a good start for people’s quality of life. If you do not have respect from others just for who you are, it is harder to be all that you can be.
If everyone were given the chance to be all that they could be, then the world would be a better place. It would give everyone the chance to add what he or she can to the world. This would be a positive thing for the future. Then, if people could all work in harmony about things without conflict of stupid thing we might be able to fix so many things in the world--like cancer or other illnesses like AIDS. We could also help to minimize violence and help with world cooperation. Then things like trade and peace would prosper.
The world would have so much good come out of having a simple thing like equal rights and respect. If we could achieve this for the future the quality of life would be much better. Taking this step will help fix our other problems, and make the world a better place.

America's quality of life is something we all take for granted. When compared to other countries we live like kings. Most of us take what we have and still complain. No matter what, we will always find something to complain about.
The past few years I have volunteered at an outreach program in one of the worst places in Philadelphia. The kids there had mothers whom went to bars all night and spent any money they had on cigarettes. If they even had a father around, he was most likely abusive. It was amazing how kind the kids were. The kids were in horrible conditions yet they didn't complain about any thing.
When you see the conditions that these kids are in, it really makes you feel lucky for what you have. These kids are in pretty bad schools and will probably never go to college. Their education is affecting their whole life. Their children will end up in the same situation they were in.
Unfortunately, it is an unending cycle and until someone changes it, it will continue. They get two meals a day provided by the city and that's about all they get. Even though it's a meal it is a very sad excuse for food. I see homeless people scattered on the street. They are begging for money, food and anything else they can get. It's my hope that sometime in the near future that America will change. In order for that to change everyone needs to contribute. It will never change if everyone continues to lay it on the people who need help. They can’t help themselves. We need to take action.

I feel that I am very lucky to have the life that I have. I know that some people are not as lucky as I am. I watch TV and see a lot of those people. They are really skinny because they are not fed well. I don’t know why they don’t have food, but I would really like to help them. Some people live out on the street. I really haven’t seen them but I know that they are out there.
If I could change anything, I would get rid of all of the people in jail that tried or did hurt kids. Some times it’s not even that. The father could hurt the mother right in front of the child. Or sometimes it’s the other way around. I’ve even seen it happen. Then, after that happens, the child gets violent and you have more bad people to deal with. It’s just that people don’t realize what that does to children. The parents burn violence into a child’s mind. Even movies today do it. People can make the movies if they want, but the parent of a child should follow the movie ratings. People I know, who are my age (which is 12 soon to be 13), have seen R-rated movies. Children our age should not be exposed to that.
Another wish I have is that everyone is treated equal. People are judged by how heavy or skinny they are. If somebody is over-weight, people should not make fun of them. It’s not their fault. Another way that people are not treated equal is by their skin color. That does not mean that we should treat them badly.
My last and final wish is that people will not get sick with AIDS or any other disease because my aunt died of cancer.
